Day 169 - White Wedding

"There is nothin' fair in this world.
There is nothin' safe in this world.
And there's nothin' sure in this world..."

"Come on.
It's a nice day for a white wedding.
It's a nice day to start again."

  3. Visiting from the Blaze, I just sat here and looked through all of the costumes and they are great!! The quotes were really funny too :). What a joy for all the kids (and the neighbors, lol), I'm sure they looked forward to seeing what the costume of the day would be every day :). Very cool!

  4. Greetings from Sydney, Australia!
    http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8257735/dad-dresses-up-in-170-costumes-to-farewell-son

This story is fantastic. I've visited AF several times and I can only imagine how cold it must've been on many of those mornings - I saw the snow in some of those shots.

And such anticipation that so many of the kids and neighbours must've had each morning. These are the simple things we can do to enrich the lives and relationships we have with those around us, and build great communities to live in, and the happiest of families.

Dale - the smile is ever present in all the pics. What joy your simple act has bought to thousands of people all over the world! I can just imagine the hooting and cheering on the bus on the final morning as it drove away..!

Well done guys! Excellent, excellent story!

  13. This is a great idea. It had to have had a positive effect on the other students on the bus as well, because laughter always has a positive effect. It would be interesting to hear from the teachers on whether or not the other students' performance or behavior changed because of it, and to also hear from the parents of the other students if their child(ren) did not want to miss school because they didn't want to miss seeing what costume Rain's dad would be wearing that day.

I will contribute to Rain's college/therapy fund. If everyone viewing your blog only left $1.00 it would be the best dollar ever spent. This is better than any drink, cigarette, junk food, drug, or anti-depressant for improving one's mood.

It's a shame the television and radio stations used your story to attract viewers and listeners. I hope they paid you for it.

Wishing you continued happiness and a long and prosperous life.

  18. You are the coolest dad ever! You've taught your kid a great lesson- never take yourself too seriously and always find the humor in any situation. Hopefully other parents and kids will read about this blog and be inspired to embrace their family quirks! You guys sound like an incredible family!
