Rose Parade Memories

He just keeps waving! This time on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA

We've had some neighborhood busing problems lately. As in no bus.

There's been road construction at the top of our street and the bus driver randomly chooses not to pick up the kids at that stop some mornings. This has made it difficult to wave at the bus, when the bus doesn't drive up our street. Not to mention the "I need a ride to school" requests from Rain.

So, to keep things interesting here (although not as funny), I figured I could share a few photos from our Rose Parade trip, earlier this month.

Our seats were in the grandstands above this platform

Before the parade started we could view the floats lined up ready to go

Our favorite... American Fork High School Marching Band

And there's Rain, the trumpet player on the end closest to us, right behind the Tubas

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! May your 2012 be full of smiles and waves.

We are in Pasadena for the Tournament of Roses Parade. Rain (and the American Fork Marching Band) will be marching in the parade tomorrow morning. As the band left the hotel for the Santa Monica Pier today, Dale gave them a Happy New Year send off, dressed as Father Time. There were five buses of students, so we got a little more "wave time" than usual. Enough that I took a video of part of it (see below).

For anyone interested in watching the parade, they are scheduled to be 81st in the parade order. You can check here for streaming video info: http://www.ktla.com/entertainment/roseparade/
